What is Autism?

Autism is a brain disorder that often makes it hard to communicate with and relate to others. It causes,different areas of the brain fail to work together.
People with autism often have trouble communicating to others.Early diagnosis and treatment have helped most people who have autism to reach their full potential.

Why do you get affected?

Experts say that Autism tends to run in families through inheritance. Scientists are trying to find out exactly which genes may be responsible for passing down autism in families.
Studies are looking at causes for autism by other medical problems or by something in general surroundings.

Symptoms

Symptoms start before a child is 3 years old, when the child has not started talking yet or not acting like other children at similar age.It’s possible for a child with autism to start speaking and then lose his or her language skills.

Symptoms of autism include:

Delayed learning in talking or not talking at all. Hearing skills of children although being normal but might seem deaf.
Repeated and overused behavior, interests, and play, like repeated body rocking, unusual attachments to objects, and getting very upset when routines change.

Teenagers with autism often become depressed and have a lot of anxiety, especially if they have average or above-average intelligence.
Children tend to get a seizure disorder such as epilepsy by their teen years.
