Mumps

What?

Paramyxovirus, a contagious virus causing infection called Mumps.Primarily passing from a person to another through saliva, close personal contact and nasal secretions. It is commonly seen in younger children, This condition is minor in children but can be complicated in adults.

How?

This virus travels in the air through coughs and sneezes, it may be on surfaces people touch, such as door handles or be picked-up from cups, cutlery, bowls or plates.

Symptoms

The most common symptoms involving Mumps disease are:

Swelling and pain of one or both parotid glands.
Chewing and swallowing are painful.
Mild abdominal pain.
High temperature, Fever and tiredness.
The immune system makes antibodies during the infection to tackle the virus for lifelong hence any case of the mumps disease is rare.
